Common Scams
Stay Alert
- 1. The Fake SMS Alert Scammers may send a fake SMS message to your phone number that looks exactly like an official bank or EasyPaisa/JazzCash alert claiming funds have been deposited. Always open your banking app to verify.
- 2. Forged Screenshots Fraudsters easily edit screenshots to make it look like they successfully transferred funds to your account. Never trust a screenshot alone.
- 3. The Off-Platform Lure If a user insists on chatting via WhatsApp or another messenger app immediately, it's a major red flag. They do this to avoid PostAds moderators having access to the chat logs in case of a dispute.
Verification Protocol
The Golden Rule
There is only one golden rule of P2P selling: Verify the funds in your own account yourself.
- Open your banking or mobile wallet app (do not click links sent by the buyer).
- Log in securely.
- Check your "Available Balance" or "Recent Transactions" to confirm the exact amount has credited.
- Only after confirming step 3, hand over or ship the item.
